According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Sayyed Jawad Nasrallah, son of Martyr Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, in an interview with Al-Ahed website, discussed his father’s personality traits, lifestyle, religious outlook, leadership methods, and his connection with the people, martyrs’ families, and resistance forces. He also recounted the final months of his father’s life.

Divine Test and the Necessity of Steadfastness

Sayyed Jawad Nasrallah, referencing the concept of divine testing, stated that individuals face trials throughout life that serve to purify, correct, and reveal their level of endurance. He emphasized the prayer ‘O Turner of hearts, keep my heart firm on Your religion,’ stressing that one should not consider themselves immune to divine tests. He added that some trials are meant to remove impurities, while others serve to expose human weaknesses.

How Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah Was Certain of Victory

Continuing, Sayyed Jawad Nasrallah spoke of his father’s perspective on the future of the resistance, noting that Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah believed God grants victory to those who are sincere and steadfast in their path. Recalling his father’s words in the final months of his life, he mentioned that Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah did not rule out the possibility of the conflict prolonging for months or even years, yet he saw the horizon of victory as bright. According to Sayyed Jawad Nasrallah, this outlook was not merely a result of ordinary calculation or prediction but stemmed from Sayyed’s ‘insight.’ He explained that when a heart is purified of impurities, God can bestow a form of insight that surpasses normal calculations.

Special Attention to the Disadvantaged and Preserving the Dignity of the Needy

In another segment of the interview, the son of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah highlighted his father’s attention to the poor, needy, and vulnerable segments of society, stating that he was influenced by the conduct of Imam Ali (peace be upon him). He then spoke of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah’s close relationship with the pioneers and Mahdavi schools, adding that his father considered children and adolescents a crucial part of society’s future. According to Sayyed Jawad Nasrallah, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah believed that youth should be nurtured both educationally and intellectually/religiously, which is why he paid special attention to activities involving children and adolescents. He recounted an incident involving a house that was made available to Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah at one point, but he ordered it to be given to the pioneers.

Regarding his father’s lifestyle, Sayyed Jawad Nasrallah said that Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah had no interest in financial matters or personal assets, viewing material resources primarily as tools for fulfilling his responsibilities. He added that his father had no particular fondness for houses or cars as symbols of personal life and strived to direct resources towards social, educational, and resistance activities. According to him, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah emphasized avoiding immersion in materialism, with his primary focus being on the responsibilities he had undertaken.

Jihad Was the Entirety of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah’s Life

In another part of the interview, the son of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah stated that his father’s ‘entire life’ was linked to jihad and resistance. He explained that even when Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah could not be physically present in certain areas, he maintained his connection to the field and followed developments closely. According to Sayyed Jawad Nasrallah, his father possessed extensive knowledge in various political, security, social, and even medical fields, deriving his understanding from societal and ground-level realities. He also emphasized that Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah did not see himself as separate from the people and maintained his connection with various segments of society.

Study and Education Until the End of Life

Sayyed Jawad Nasrallah further spoke of his father’s profound love for books and reading, stating that Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah read numerous books on diverse subjects and had an excellent memory for what he read. Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah continued his education until the end of his life, pursuing not only religious studies but also various academic and scientific topics. According to Sayyed Jawad Nasrallah, some scholars considered him at the level of Ijtihad, but he himself stressed that titles hold less importance than knowledge, ethics, and practical conduct.

In describing his father’s character, Sayyed Jawad Nasrallah emphasized the coexistence of firmness and mercy. Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah was a decisive commander on the battlefield, but he showed great compassion and sympathy towards the disadvantaged, martyrs’ families, resistance fighters, youth, and children. He added that to understand Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, one should not focus solely on his military or political aspects, but also consider the intellectual, managerial, human, and social dimensions of his personality. Sayyed Jawad Nasrallah also highlighted his father’s special attention to the families of martyrs, stating they held a unique place for Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah. According to him, these families corresponded with him, seeking his advice on matters such as their children’s education and upbringing. Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah would read the letters of the martyrs’ children and sometimes send them gifts. He considered the families of martyrs one of the vital pillars of the resistance society, believing their sacrifices imbued the movement with strength and endurance.

Deep Relationship with the Martyred Leader

Another focus of the interview was Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah’s relationship with the Martyred Leader, His Eminence Ayatollah Khamenei. Sayyed Jawad Nasrallah described this relationship as profound, stating that his father’s connection with the Martyred Leader was not merely within the framework of a political or organizational relationship but was forged through years of recognition, experience, and deep conviction. He added that there was deep affection and a strong bond between Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and the Martyred Leader, and his father was sensitive to the Leader’s standing. In the final part of the interview, Sayyed Jawad Nasrallah addressed his father’s last months, stating that he had sensed several signs during that period but did not want to take them seriously at the time. He spoke of an inner feeling regarding September 27th, emphasizing that this was not based on dreams or visions. Sayyed Jawad Nasrallah mentioned experiencing a sense of inner peace after his father’s martyrdom, considering it a divine grace. He stated that after this event, his perspective on many worldly matters changed, and his sense of certainty and determination to continue on the path increased. Regarding his last phone call with his father, he said it was like any ordinary conversation, with no special farewell. However, Sayyed Jawad Nasrallah noted that in the final year of his life, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah made recommendations and gave instructions concerning the welfare of his family and sisters that were unprecedented. He added that these behaviors took on a new meaning for him after his father’s martyrdom, viewing them as a form of preparation. According to Sayyed Jawad Nasrallah, the family, like many others, learned of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah’s martyrdom through television.

The Path of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah Continues

Referencing the verse ‘And do not think of those who have been killed in the cause of Allah as dead. Rather, they are alive with their Lord, receiving provision,’ Sayyed Jawad Nasrallah stated that the belief in the life of martyrs holds great significance for him and that he does not limit connection with martyrs to their physical presence. He concluded by emphasizing the necessity of continuing the path that Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah was on, asserting that martyrdom should not lead to broken will or abandonment of the path. Sayyed Jawad Nasrallah stressed that his father’s legacy should be preserved in its intellectual, human, managerial, and jihadi dimensions, and those who remain after him must continue this journey.
