Russia Extends Diesel Export Ban Through October

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Russian government announced on Wednesday that it has extended the ban on diesel fuel exports by producers for an additional month, pushing the deadline beyond September. This restriction, initially set to expire at the end of September, now remains in effect until the end of October.

The prohibition also encompasses the export of marine fuel and diesel by Russian producers. The Russian government has stated that the objective behind implementing these restrictions is to meet the demands of the domestic market and prevent any disruptions in fuel supply. This move follows several previous extensions of export limitations on petroleum products by the country in recent months.

Russia had previously extended the ban on the export of diesel fuel, marine fuel, and gasoil by producers until September 30th in late August. These limitations were put in place amidst growing concerns about fuel availability in the domestic market and a decline in production at some Russian refineries.

Russia is recognized as one of the world’s significant diesel fuel exporters. The continued imposition of export restrictions by the country has the potential to impact the supply levels of this product in international markets.
