North Korea States Japan’s Munitions Network Expansion Signals War Readiness

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, North Korea‘s Central News Agency has reported that Japan’s initiative to build around 130 new munitions storage facilities is indicative of the nation’s readiness for a long-term war. The state-run agency highlighted that the establishment of more arsenals signifies an enhanced capacity for sustained warfare. Japanese defense forces currently manage approximately 1,400 ammunition depots, with plans to add about 130 more by 2032. The locations for 65 of these new depots have been identified, and three facilities are slated for operational status by August. The North Korean report also links the development of this munitions storage network to other Japanese defense endeavors, including increased military spending, the advancement of long-range weaponry, unmanned systems, and the integration of artificial intelligence technologies. Tokyo has justified the construction of these new depots by citing the necessity to bolster the defense forces’ capabilities for continued combat operations in the event of a prolonged engagement.
