Trump Claims Europe Agrees to Release Massive Diesel Reserves Amid US Pressure

U.S. President Donald Trump announced that European nations have agreed to release substantial quantities of diesel reserves, a move reportedly influenced by U.S. diplomatic efforts and aimed at stabilizing global energy markets.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, U.S. President Donald Trump claimed on his social media platform, Truth Social, that Europe has recently agreed to release a large volume of its diesel reserves, with the process set to commence immediately.

This assertion by Trump follows reports from Reuters indicating that European Union member states were considering a French proposal to tap into diesel reserves following pressure from the United States. French President Emmanuel Macron, in line with Trump’s claim, confirmed that the G7 nations intend to supply up to 100 million barrels of diesel and crude oil over a four-month period.

Reuters further reported, citing the French proposal, that European countries would withdraw 50 million barrels from their diesel inventories if the plan is approved. In a separate development, the European Union issued a statement rejecting any potential U.S. ban on diesel exports, emphasizing that such a prohibition would undermine confidence in the United States as a Western partner.
