Iraq Grants Daily Air Travel Permits for 40 Flights Between Najaf and Iran

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, The Iraqi government has announced the achievement of an exemption that allows for 40 daily flights to and from Najaf International Airport for Iranian airlines, with the exclusion of Mahan Air. This exemption was granted to facilitate passenger movement to and from Iraq and to support humanitarian and medical needs, according to a statement from the Iraqi government.
The Prime Minister of Iraq has expressed his appreciation for the positive response and cooperation from the United States government in granting the requested exemption. Previously, the U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) had stated that Iraqi Airways could resume passenger flights between Iran and Iraq under a limited license, provided that these flights only operate to and from Najaf International Airport.
