US Cautious on Iran Involvement in Flydubai Incident, Israel Eyes Interrogation

The United States is refraining from premature conclusions regarding any potential Iranian involvement in the recent Flydubai incident, as Israeli officials prepare to question a co-pilot allegedly involved in an attempt to down a passenger flight from Dubai.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, The U.S. State Department spokesperson, in an interview with the Saudi Al-Hadath television channel, stated that the United States does not wish to comment on the possibility of Iran’s involvement in the Flydubai flight incident before the investigation is complete.

This statement from the American official comes as Reuters reported, citing an informed source familiar with the investigation, that Israeli authorities are expected to interrogate the co-pilot who allegedly intended to bring down a passenger flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv.

On Wednesday, a catastrophe was averted due to the timely actions of passengers and crew in subduing the co-pilot of Flydubai flight FZ1073. Israeli authorities claim this co-pilot, in what appeared to be an attempt to down the aircraft, had stabbed the pilot. The plane was carrying 174 passengers and crew.

A reserve pilot from Flydubai, who was on board as a passenger, landed the aircraft at Tabuk Airport in northwestern Saudi Arabia, where the co-pilot was detained by Saudi authorities.
