Saudi Arabia Attacks Over 540 Healthcare Facilities in Yemen, Ministry Reports

The Saudi-led coalition has targeted more than 540 medical centers and hospitals in Yemen, according to the Yemeni Ministry of Health, exacerbating the dire humanitarian situation amidst ongoing siege and restrictions on medical supplies.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Saudi-led coalition has systematically targeted residential areas, hospitals, and healthcare facilities in Yemen, as confirmed by Anis Al-Asbahi, spokesperson for the Yemeni Ministry of Health. These attacks are occurring against the backdrop of a continuous siege on the country, which obstructs the entry of vital medicines and medical equipment.

Al-Asbahi emphasized that Yemen’s healthcare infrastructure has suffered severe damage due to years of Saudi aggression and the blockade, leaving Yemeni patients with immense challenges in accessing treatment. Approximately 400,000 individuals require transfer abroad for medical care, with thousands suffering from chronic and life-threatening diseases.

He detailed a recent incident near Al-Sab’een Hospital, where an attack caused damage to internal sections and medical equipment, instilling fear among patients. Since the commencement of Saudi interventions in Yemen, over 542 medical centers and hospitals have been attacked, resulting in the complete destruction of 165 buildings and the targeting of 129 ambulance vehicles.

The spokesperson further highlighted the critical condition of vulnerable populations, stating that the lives of 120,000 cancer patients and 8,000 kidney disease patients are at risk. Additionally, more than 3.6 million children are suffering from malnutrition.
