Yair Golan Warns Netanyahu May Trigger New War With Iran to Cling to Power

Yair Golan, leader of Israel’s Democrats Party, has warned that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu may initiate a fresh military aggression against Iran in a desperate bid to maintain his hold on power.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Yair Golan issued a stark warning regarding what he describes as a calculated strategy by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to prolong his political survival through military escalation against Iran.

The Israeli opposition figure noted that Tel Aviv has entered a phase of continuous conflict with Tehran, a trajectory that increasingly exposes the profound scale of Netanyahu’s failures in leadership.

Golan emphasized that Netanyahu lacks both the public backing and the moral legitimacy required to manage such high-stakes conflicts, asserting that national security must never be exploited as a political instrument for personal retention of power. Analysts point out that the Israeli premier has frequently relied on regional military aggression to deflect from his ongoing legal battles and court appearances.

Meanwhile, the recent parliamentary elections in Israel have failed to resolve the nation’s persistent political crisis, instead highlighting deepening internal fractures and further complicating efforts to form a stable governing coalition. With neither major political bloc securing the requisite 61-seat majority in the 120-member Knesset, Israel faces the prospect of prolonged political uncertainty.
