US CENTCOM Establishes Iron Gate Task Force to Counter Iranian Arms Transfers

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, …
United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on Saturday the formation of a specialized unit designated to counter what it claims are overland weapons transfers involving Iran. Operating from its headquarters in Tampa, Florida, the newly established initiative—dubbed Task Force Iron Gate—comprises approximately 20 military and civilian personnel.
According to CENTCOM officials, the task force will coordinate closely with various US government agencies to obstruct the movement of advanced weapon systems, dual-use technologies, sanctioned commodities, and illicit revenue sources across land borders and the Caspian Sea region.
Vice Admiral Brad Cooper asserted that the launch of Task Force Iron Gate is designed to complement existing maritime containment strategies against Iran. He further claimed that enhanced interagency cooperation under this new operational framework will constrain Iran’s defense manufacturing capabilities and military reinforcement efforts.
