Erdogan: We have entered a new phase in satellite production
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that the country will enter a new phase in satellite production after the successful launch of the Turksat 6A communication satellite.
Erdogan emphasized that the ability to build communication satellites independently is “of great importance” for the national security of this country.
He added: With the launch of Turkest 6A, Turkey will become a country capable of producing communication satellites. Erdogan said: We are happy to strengthen our cooperation with Mr. Elon Musk and SpaceX in various fields.
This satellite will be launched by SpaceX’s “Falcon 9” rocket from the Cape Canaveral Air Force Base station in Florida, USA.
Previously, Baykar, as Turkey’s largest UAV manufacturer, is counting on launching its first satellite into space in 2025.
It is expected that the country’s share in television broadcasting will increase with the start of the Turksat 6A satellite. Turkey claims that 91% of the world’s people will communicate with each other through Turkish satellites.
