Hunter Biden, the son of the US president, is accused of several crimes in several cases, from corruption and bribery in Ukraine to the illegal transportation of weapons and drugs, which can make him face 5 to 25 years in prison.
Musk wrote about this on X: I have nothing to do with drugs and these issues, but I do not agree with questioning the integrity of the United States.
Biden, who is spending his last days in the White House and must officially hand over the reins of power to Trump on January 20, issued a statement announcing that his son had previously has become the focus of republican attacks against him.
This statement reads: Today I pardoned my son Hunter. Since taking the helm of the White House, I have declared that I will not interfere in the affairs of the Department of Justice, even when I witnessed false accusations against my son Hunter.
The statement added: Any sane person looking at Hunter’s case would realize that he was targeted simply because he is my son. We hope the American people will understand why a father, who is also the president, decides to pardon his son.
