Indian Army Reports Fourth Night of Cross-Border Fire Exchange with Pakistan
The Indian Army, in a statement, claimed that Pakistani forces once again violated the ceasefire agreement along the border region known as the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu adn Kashmir. According to reports by mehr News Agency, cited by Russia Today, the Indian military accused Pakistani troops of unprovoked firing toward areas near Kupwara and Poonch last night. Indian forces reportedly responded swiftly.
Tensions between New Delhi and Islamabad have escalated following a deadly attack on a group of tourists in India-controlled Kashmir. Authorities confirmed ongoing exchanges of fire between indian and Pakistani troops along their shared border.
India has accused its neighbour Pakistan of supporting “cross-border terrorism.” Islamabad, however, denies any involvement in the incident, calling attempts to link Pakistan to it “futile” and warning it will deliver an “appropriate response” to any action from India.
