According to a report by the English section of “webangah News Agency” citing Mehr News agency and Russia al-Youm, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Pakistan’s Defense Minister, emphasized that he did not speak about the outbreak of war between his country and India during his recent press statements.
He added: “I was asked about the possibility of war. I said the next three or four days are critical—but I did not say war would begin in three days.”
Asif further stated: “I do not predict an immediate military operation, but tensions remain high. If we are attacked, we will respond appropriately.”
The day before, Khawaja Asif had warned of an imminent Indian military action, stating: “An Indian military attack is imminent.”
Pakistan’s Defense Minister also reported a large-scale deployment of Pakistani forces along the border with India and stressed that both countries should refrain from using nuclear options in case of a conventional armed conflict.
