The Gaza government announced that 65,000 children in the war-torn region have been hospitalized due to acute malnutrition, out of 1.1 million children suffering daily from hunger.
According to the English section of “webangah News Agency,” citing Mehr News Agency and palestinian Shahab News Agency, the Gaza government’s media office reported the alarming hospitalization figures.
The report adds that 1.1 million children in Gaza endure daily starvation. In related developments, the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) addressed the worsening humanitarian crisis in its latest statement, noting that no commercial or humanitarian aid has entered Gaza for seven weeks.
The statement emphasized that the closure of all border crossings has triggered a catastrophic humanitarian disaster in gaza since October 2023, marking one of the most severe crises in recent history. The legal institute described the current situation as the longest period of complete siege on the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the war, revealing that food, drinking water, and medical supplies are becoming increasingly scarce due to the Zionist blockade, while prices of essential goods have risen significantly.
The report adds that medical equipment has nearly run out, and some remaining supplies will be fatigued in the coming weeks.
According to the statement, 57% of essential medicines in Gaza are available for one month or less.
UNRWA emphasized that the Zionist regime has also prevented aid delivery from southern Gaza to its north, further complicating humanitarian conditions in the region.
