Yasmin Musa: Ignoring the International Criminal Court’s ruling is not an option
Egypt’s Representative at the International Criminal Court stated: In the long term, it is impossible to ignore the rulings of the ICC as the principal judicial body affiliated with the United Nations.
According to a report by the English section of Webangah News Agency, citing Mehr news Agency and russia Al-Youm, Yasmin Moussa, Egypt’s representative at the International Criminal court (ICC), affirmed that Egypt supports Palestine in all political and legal spheres, emphasizing that her country’s stance on this issue is clear and unwavering.She added that ongoing complaints regarding Palestine—especially in light of the catastrophic situation in Gaza—have marked a critical phase for this cause.Moussa stressed: “Israel’s actions in occupied territories violate international law. The world awaits an ICC ruling in coming months to trigger a broad political movement across UN institutions.”
She noted that most ICC member states have expressed full support for Palestinian rights, especially self-determination.Additionally, around 40 countries urged Israel to comply with its obligations as a UN member—including ending Gaza’s blockade and ensuring humanitarian aid access.
Yasmin Moussa concluded: “Long-term disregard for ICC rulings is untenable; it remains the UN’s primary judicial body.”
