Chinese President to Attend Victory Day Parade in Moscow.
According to the English section of “webangah News Agency” citing Mehr News Agency and Reuters, the Kremlin announced that Chinese president Xi Jinping will travel to Moscow for an official visit from May 7–10 (17–20 Ordibehesht) to attend this week’s Victory Day parade.
The kremlin stated in a release that during the visit, Xi will meet with russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss deepening the strategic partnership between China and Russia. Additionally, both sides are expected to sign several cooperation agreements.
other leaders confirmed to attend the Victory Day events include the presidents of Brazil and Serbia,and also Slovakia’s prime minister.
Earlier, Putin proposed a three-day ceasefire to Ukraine in observance of the occasion. Though, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy responded that he would only agree to a 30-day ceasefire—a proposal Putin dismissed as unfeasible in the near term, emphasizing his preference for a long-term agreement over a brief pause.
