China seeks to expand relations with Latin American countries
According to the English section of Webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al-Mayadeen, Xi Jinping, China’s president, committed during his speech at a regional forum in Beijing to provide loans worth $9.2 billion for countries in Latin America and the Caribbean.
At the opening ceremony of the Forum between China and Latin American and Caribbean States, the Chinese president announced during a press conference that a loan of 66 billion yuan (equivalent to $9.2 billion) would be granted to support governments in Latin America and the Caribbean.
He added that through unity and cooperation,governments can uphold global peace and stability while fostering progress and prosperity worldwide.
The Chinese president also condemned U.S. bullying and hegemony.
In recent years, China has strengthened its economic and political collaboration with Latin American countries, advocating for a unified front against recent U.S. tariffs imposed by former President Donald Trump.
