Al-Manar reveals details of probe into Israeli spy within Lebanon’s Hezbollah

Al-Manar denies claims that detained Israeli spy was involved in assassinations‌ of Hezbollah leaders.

webangah News Agency reports ‌that LebanonS Al-Manar network has investigated the ⁣arrest‍ of a Lebanese spy accused of providing sensitive data about Hezbollah officials to Israel.

the report states ‍that 2009 became known as the year of Israel’s espionage⁤ network collapse in Lebanon after security services identified over 100 spies from various factions and political parties.

Despite this, human infiltration into⁢ Hezbollah’s internal structure reportedly increased significantly, especially following the ‍33-day July ⁣War⁣ and⁣ subsequent assassinations of resistance leaders, sparking widespread suspicions and accusations.

Al-Manar detailed the arrest of Mohammad Saleh, who allegedly confessed during interrogations to collaborating with Israeli intelligence agencies⁣ for financial ‌gain. Saleh claimed he turned to espionage due to massive debts from failed⁢ stock market investments.

Sources indicate that while Saleh was formerly associated with hezbollah, any information he obtained came only from personal observations or hearsay‌ after leaving⁣ the organization. He reportedly offered to sell his knowledge to Israeli handlers for payment.

The network firmly‍ rejected media‌ reports linking saleh’s intelligence to secondary Hezbollah figures’ deaths, stating ⁣these claims lack interrogation-based evidence and that martyrs killed during conflicts had no connection to him.

Security sources‍ confirmed interrogations found no⁢ proof of ⁢additional spies linked to‌ Saleh within Hezbollah. They also denied rumors about female detainees among two other ‌arrested suspects.

Al-Manar ⁣sources emphasized Saleh ⁤represents neither the first nor⁣ last major spy case involving alleged collaboration with Israel.
