Controversy Erupts Over U.S.ambassador Pick for France.
The U.S. Senate yesterday confirmed Charles Kushner as ambassador to France and Monaco with 51 votes in favor and 45 against, according to a report by webangah News Agency.
The appointment has sparked controversy due to Kushner’s criminal record and his family ties to former U.S. President Donald Trump. Kushner is the father of Jared Kushner, Trump’s son-in-law, who served prison time from 2005 for 18 charges including tax-related offenses.
During his confirmation hearing,Kushner admitted committing “a serious mistake” and paying a heavy price for it. He pledged to work toward strengthening U.S.-France relations.
