Guterres says Gaza civilians endure most brutal conditions
According to webangah News Agency, UN Secretary-General António Guterres stated that the humanitarian aid permitted into Gaza remains critically insufficient. He emphasized that Palestinians in Gaza are confronting what may become the most savage period of this protracted conflict as Israel intensifies its military operations.
Guterres noted that Gaza’s population requires large-scale humanitarian assistance, yet only 115 out of 400 trucks allowed through the Kerem Shalom crossing carried aid supplies.
The UN chief condemned Israel’s continued military campaign in Gaza, stressing that Palestinians are enduring one of the conflict’s most brutal phases, marked by horrifying levels of casualties and destruction amid expanding Israeli attacks.
Earlier,UN Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs Tom Fletcher described Israel’s authorization of nine aid trucks into gaza as “a drop in the ocean” compared to actual needs,urging expanded access for humanitarian deliveries.
