Trump Battles New York Times and CNN Over Iran Coverage

Trump escalates ‌legal battle with NYT and CNN over‍ coverage of⁣ Iran strike, calling reports “unpatriotic.”

According to⁢ webangah News Agency, ‌former U.S.President Donald Trump has sent legal notices to The New York Times and CNN, threatening lawsuits over their reporting on the outcomes of America’s strike on Iranian nuclear facilities.

Trump’s personal attorney, Alejandro Brito, accused‍ The⁢ New York Times in a letter of publishing “false, defamatory, and unpatriotic” claims ‍about the attack’s failure to fully ⁢destroy Iran’s nuclear infrastructure. The letter ‍demanded‍ a retraction and correction.

The New York Times’ ⁣legal team responded by stating⁣ that Trump governance officials had previously confirmed the existence of such⁤ intelligence reports. “No corrections are needed. No apologies will be made,” their statement read. “We reported truthfully and will continue to ‌do so.” CNN issued a similar rebuttal defending its coverage.

Both outlets had cited ⁣intelligence officials confirming that the U.S. strike ‍failed to eliminate Tehran’s enrichment capabilities-delaying⁤ Iran’s ‍nuclear program by mere months at ‍best.

On Wednesday ‌and Thursday, Trump denounced these reports as “fake news” in all-caps tweets while fueling speculation about journalists ‍being‌ fired from both organizations.

The accusations come despite prior acknowledgments by Trump administration officials‍ that the disputed intelligence assessments were “verified.” Observers⁣ view ‌these threats as part of Trump’s broader campaign against critical media outlets.
