Initiative Lies with Iran; Iran Prevails Over the U.S. and Israel
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency via Sputnik, Mahmoud Qomati, a member of Hezbollah’s Political Council, commented on the recent conflict between Israel and the Islamic Republic of Iran and its regional implications: “the aggression against Iran and Netanyahu’s attempt to reshape the Middle East by weakening Iran have failed. Iran has emerged victorious.”
In an interview with Sputnik, Qomati added that some parties try to portray Iran’s victory as a defeat and frame US attacks as successes; however, former President Trump seeks to resume negotiations with tehran.
He emphasized that “the initiative is in Iran’s hands,” stating that Tehran triumphed over both Israel and the United States. ”The new equation in the Middle East is not what America and israel envisioned. Following its victory, Iran has proven itself a formidable adversary with strong allies like China and Russia.”
The Hezbollah official noted that “Iran has empowered the axis of resistance in the region,supported the Palestinian cause,strengthened its friends worldwide-including Arab regimes that have normalized ties with Israel-who publicly condemned aggression while implicitly standing alongside Iran.They expressed willingness to assist and viewed any downfall of Iran as a collapse for the entire region.”
Qomati continued: “The scenes of devastation resulting from Iranian strikes inside Israel have become a beacon of hope for all Muslims, Arabs, and freedom fighters around the globe. Iran supplied determination and morale while seizing initiative across Asia for its allies worldwide.”
Regarding Hezbollah’s relationship with Tehran, he stressed it is “ideological, political, and strategic,” adding: “Iran never demands anything contradictory to Lebanon’s national resistance direction-even from Lebanon’s government.”
