French Diplomat Summoned to Zionist Foreign Ministry
The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that it summoned the French diplomat in the occupied Palestinian territories following President Emmanuel Macron’s remarks about recognizing the State of Palestine.
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Israel’s Times of Israel, Israel summoned France’s deputy ambassador to the occupied Palestinian territories today, Sunday.
This summons was issued in response to verbal statements made by French President Emmanuel Macron regarding Paris’s decision to recognize the State of Palestine.
Earlier, President Macron said he had discussed the dire and unacceptable humanitarian situation in Gaza with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip erdoğan and Egyptian President abdel Fattah el-Sisi.
Macron stated: “We cannot accept children starving in Gaza. I will recognize the Palestinian government at next September’s United Nations General Assembly.”
