Hamas Expresses Appreciation for Resigned Dutch Ministers
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera Qatar, the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) issued a statement saying that the position of the resigning Dutch ministers embodies human values and commitment to international law.
Hamas added that their resignation sends a strong message calling for international action to halt fascist aggression against civilians in Gaza.
The movement also referenced a United Nations report warning of widespread famine in Gaza, emphasizing the urgent need to sanction and pressure Israel to end genocide and siege. Hamas urged all governments to assume duty by imposing effective and immediate sanctions.
This praise from Hamas followed announcements by ministers affiliated with a political party in the Netherlands expressing support for their Foreign Minister’s stance against the zionist regime.
Ministers linked to the New Social Decade party in the Netherlands announced their resignations, backing their Foreign Minister after his efforts to impose new sanctions on Israel were blocked.
Caspar van der Kamp, Dutch Foreign Minister, resigned Friday night amid goverment disputes over potential sanctions on Tel Aviv.
In his statement, van der Kamp said he concluded that he was no longer in a position to implement important measures exerting pressure on Israel.
The day before, he had expressed willingness to adopt new measures against Tel Aviv. Earlier this July, the Dutch government declared two Zionist ministers-itamar Ben-Gvir and Smotrich-as ”undesirable persons.”
The Netherlands was also among 21 countries that jointly declared on Thursday a large plan for settlement expansion in occupied West Bank areas as “unacceptable” and inconsistent with international law.
