Aftermath of Severe Rainfall and Devastating Floods in Pakistan + Video

Heavy rainfall⁣ and severe flooding⁢ have‍ caused devastating consequences for Pakistan.

According to the English section of ‌ webangah News⁤ Agency, citing Mehr news Agency, Sputnik⁤ reported that ‍floods in Pakistan have inflicted extensive damage on ‍the country’s⁢ economy and infrastructure. Experts estimate that full⁣ rehabilitation of the‍ flood-damaged areas will ⁤take a​ considerable amount ⁣of time.

Pakistani officials⁣ have announced that over 150,000 people living along the ⁤banks of three major rivers in punjab ‍have ‍been evacuated.

Authorities confirmed that recent heavy‍ rains and flooding have caused dangerously⁣ rising ‌water levels.

The National Disaster Management ‌Authority ​(NDMA) of Pakistan warns of ongoing ⁢perilous ⁤flood impacts as river levels⁢ near thousands⁢ of villages and urban areas-especially in ⁤Punjab-reach critical heights. Simultaneously ​occurring, evacuation ​efforts to move residents to safer locations‌ continue.

Since‌ late June 2025, at least​ 800 people across Pakistan-including Punjab and ⁢Khyber pakhtunkhwa provinces-have lost their lives ‌due to monsoon rains and subsequent floods. In ⁣recent hours, 17 more deaths were reported in various ​parts ⁣of Punjab, with dozens still missing.

Pakistani⁤ media citing​ official statistics from law enforcement and rescue agencies report that approximately 1.5 million people in Punjab⁣ province are severely affected⁢ by ‌the floods, with nearly ​1,400 villages destroyed.

Punjab-the most populous province⁢ in Pakistan-is ‍facing its worst⁣ flooding in four decades.The disaster has destroyed hundreds of ‍villages ‍and wiped ⁢out food crops.

The NDMA​ stated that as of Thursday, over⁢ 210,000 individuals have been relocated to safer places; among them, around 25,000⁣ are currently sheltered in⁣ rescue camps.

Pakistani ‍officials accuse India of releasing large volumes of water from dams into Pakistani territory after their reservoirs overflowed. Islamabad claims⁢ this has ⁤triggered unprecedented flooding across central ⁢Pakistan while accusing its eastern neighbor of obstructing​ provisions under a ⁢shared water treaty. Last week India reportedly directed massive floodwaters toward low-lying border areas following ‍dam releases and‍ rising river levels.
