According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and CNN, 12 jurors and 4 alternates have been selected for the trial of Ryan Wesley Roth. He is accused of attempting to assassinate Donald Trump last September at a Florida golf course.
Roth is representing himself in court without an attorney.
Prosecutors say that Roth had spent weeks planning a gun attack but was thwarted by intervention from the Secret Service.
The 59-year-old defendant has chosen to defend himself. A federal judge allowed him to decline court-appointed lawyers, although they remain present in court should he need assistance.
The trial is scheduled to begin early today local time.
