The Washington Post: Attack on Qatar Erodes Arab States’ Trust in U.S
The English section of webangah News Agency cited Mehr News Agency and Al Mayadeen, reporting that an Israeli attack on Doha has raised doubts among Gulf Arab countries about America’s ability to support them.
The report states that tel Aviv’s strike on Doha demonstrated that the US either cannot or will not restrain Israel when it attacks Washington’s allies.
Analysts believe Israel’s approval of this attack has sparked anger and mistrust in Gulf Arab states. These countries now feel threatened themselves and view the US as an unreliable security partner. Washington has limited its response to formal statements without imposing any deterrent measures against Tel Aviv.
The report adds that these countries currently have no effective alternatives to US security guarantees.
