the 1974 agreement between Syria and Israel, known as the Disengagement Agreement or Separation of Forces Agreement, was signed after the Yom Kippur War in 1973 between the two sides.
This accord was brokered by the United States under United Nations supervision. Its primary aim was to establish a buffer zone between Syrian and Israeli forces on the Golan Heights.
