Several Explosions Heard in Damascus, Syria

Reports indicate multiple explosions have been ⁣heard in Syria’s capital.

According ‍to the English section⁤ of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr‌ News Agency and⁢ Al-Masirah network, Syrian sources reported hearing several⁣ unidentified explosions around the outskirts of Damascus.

The cause and origin ⁣of these explosions remain unknown.

Some unofficial sources claimed that an ⁣area on ⁢the outskirts ‍of Damascus was ⁢targeted by Israeli fighter ⁣jets.

So far, official Syrian ‌sources have not responded to reports about these explosions.

This is ⁣not the first time in recent months that Syrian sources have reported explosions inside‍ Syrian territory.

Following Bashar al-Assad’s fall last year, Israel increased its activity‍ in syria. In its initial move, it ⁤violated the 1974⁢ agreement⁤ with Damascus and occupied parts of⁢ southern Syria.

The 1974 Syria-Israel Agreement, known as the Disengagement Agreement between forces or the syria-Israel disengagement accord, was signed after the Yom Kippur War (1973)‍ between both parties.

This agreement was brokered by the United States under United⁤ Nations supervision. Its main purpose was to establish‍ a buffer zone between Syrian and israeli forces on the Golan Heights.
