The funeral ceremony for the wife of Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani, Iraq’s highest religious authority, was held today, Monday, in Najaf and Karbala, where she was laid to rest.
The funeral procession for the wife of Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani took place today in Najaf and Karbala. The body of the esteemed lady was buried following the ceremonies.
She came from a distinguished scholarly family. The late Alaviyeh was the daughter of Sayyid Hassan ibn Sayyid Ali ibn Sayyid Mohammad Hassan Shirazi, known as Al-Mujaddid shirazi-the prominent figure behind the tobacco fatwa.
Sayyid Hassan Al-Mujaddid was a jurist who received authorization for ijtihad and narration from Sheikh Naeini, Al-Kambani, and Agha Ziauddin Iraqi.
