Hamas Begins Reviewing Trump’s Plan for Gaza
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al-Nahar newspaper, a Palestinian official confirmed that on Tuesday, September 29, Hamas started discussions about U.S. President Donald Trump’s plan for the Gaza Strip within its leadership and with Palestinian factions.
The official close to Hamas said the movement began a series of consultations today between its political and military leaders inside and outside Palestine. they plan to present a national response representing Hamas and resistance groups. He noted these consultations could take several days.
another Palestinian official confirmed that after receiving a copy of Trump’s plan from their Qatari and Egyptian counterparts, Hamas launched deliberations on it. He emphasized that Hamas seeks a complete agreement to halt war and aggression, ensure complete Israeli withdrawal from Gaza, end the blockade imposed since 2007 on the Strip, and rebuild it. He added that occupation always obstructs any agreement because it aims to continue its destructive war; therefore, international guarantees are essential.
husam Badran, member of Hamas’s political bureau, stated in a press release that while the movement welcomes all ideas and proposals toward a solution, national principles must remain uncompromised. he stressed that resistance against occupation is a legitimate right fully consistent with international law.
Additionally,Qatar announced holding a meeting tuesday evening in doha between Hamas representatives and a Turkish delegation to discuss Trump’s plan. This session-confirmed by Hamas’s delegation who pledged responsible review-was announced by Majid Al-Ansari, spokesperson for qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs at a press conference in Doha.
Majid Al-Ansari said: “Yesterday through meetings held here in Doha with the negotiating team from Hamas, both qatar and Egypt presented this plan. The negotiating delegation promised to examine it responsibly.” he added: “Today another meeting will take place with Turkish officials along with the negotiators for further consultations regarding this plan.”
