Nawwaf Salam Reacts to Trump’s Gaza Plan
Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam welcomed former U.S. President Donald Trump’s plan to end the war in Gaza.According to the English section of webangah News Agency citing Mehr News Agency adn al-Nashra, Salam praised the plan for proposing an immediate ceasefire, delivering essential aid to Gaza residents, and preventing their displacement.
He added that the plan upholds the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and supports the establishment of an autonomous Palestinian state on Palestinian territories.
Salam also expressed support for Trump’s rejection of Israel’s annexation of the west bank.
Earlier, Lebanese President Michel Aoun had also endorsed Trump’s proposal to halt fighting in Gaza. He expressed hope that all relevant parties would approve it swiftly.
Aoun commended Trump’s efforts aimed at ending suffering among civilians and innocent people in the region, stopping bloodshed, and fostering collaboration toward a stable and prosperous Middle East grounded in justice and human dignity.
The Lebanese president praised the realistic approach of Trump’s plan in addressing contentious issues and challenges. He expressed optimism that it would gain timely acceptance by involved parties.
