Turkish Parliament Speaker: Establishing an Independent Palestinian State Is Key to Middle East Peace
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr news Agency and Palestine Information Center, Numan Kurtulmuș, Speaker of the Turkish Parliament, stressed that creating a fully sovereign Palestinian state within the 1967 borders is key to opening the door to peace in the Middle East.
Kurtulmuș made his remarks during an inauguration ceremony for a school affiliated wiht the Turkish Maarif Foundation in Hungary, speaking alongside Hungarian counterpart László Kövér. He stated: “It is indeed our humanitarian and fraternal duty to defend, until the end, the rights of the Palestinian people and their right to establish an independent state.”
he added that Turkey will continue representing the Palestinian people in all international forums. Highlighting ongoing israeli assaults on Palestinians, Kurtulmuș called for an immediate halt to what he described as brutal aggression and genocide in Gaza-conflicts that have claimed nearly 70,000 Palestinian lives so far.
he underscored that only a just peace allowing Palestinians to regain their lands can serve as a crucial step toward lasting peace in both the Middle East and worldwide.
