New U.S. Envoy Rhetoric Targets Hezbollah’s Weapons
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera, Tom Barrett, the US Special Envoy to Syria, claimed that Lebanon faces a critical choice: either disarm Hezbollah or prepare for an imminent military conflict with the Israeli regime.
Barrett stated that disarming Hezbollah is not only a security necessity for Israel but also an opportunity for Lebanon. This is not the first time Barrett has taken such interventionist positions against the resistance’s weapons.
Promising misleading incentives, Barrett added that regional partners are ready to invest in Lebanon provided the country limits its arms exclusively to its official armed forces.
The talks of Hezbollah’s disarmament have intensified while Israeli attacks on Lebanon continue and escalate despite ceasefire agreements.
