Washington Warns Netanyahu May Withdraw from Gaza Agreement
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera, The New York Times reported, quoting American officials, that ther are concerns within Donald Trump’s administration about the possibility of Benjamin Netanyahu pulling back from the Gaza agreement.
These officials said the White house’s current strategy involves a joint effort by Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff and his son-in-law Jared Kushner to prevent Netanyahu from reigniting conflict.
A White House official told The New York Times that Trump currently believes Hamas leaders are willing to negotiate in good faith.
Meanwhile, Israel’s Channel 12 cited informed sources stating that Witkoff and Kushner stressed to Netanyahu during their meeting the importance of avoiding any actions jeopardizing the Gaza deal.
The two U.S. officials also urged Israel’s prime minister to make every effort toward achieving a “second phase” of the agreement.
According to Israel’s Channel 12 report, witkoff and Kushner further warned that risking the ceasefire is “entirely unacceptable.”
