Indian President’s Helicopter Skids on Wet Concrete + Video

The English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News agency and NDTV, reported that a newly poured concrete section of a helipad in Pradham, Kerala, India, collapsed when the helicopter carrying India’s President Droupadi Murmu landed during her visit to the Sabarimala temple on Wednesday.
After the president proceeded by road towards Pamba, several police officers and firefighters were seen pushing the wheels of an Indian Air Force Mi-17 helicopter out of small puddles inside the Rajiv Gandhi indoor stadium grounds.
The landing was originally scheduled at Nilakkal near Pamba but was shifted to Pradham due to bad weather conditions.
A police officer explained that the concrete had not fully cured and was unable to support the helicopter’s weight upon landing. This caused depressions at the points where the wheels touched down, trapping the aircraft in place.
