Egypt’s Foreign Minister Reports Severe Tensions in Relations with Tel Aviv

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency via Russia Today, Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty emphasized in a televised interview that relations with the Israeli regime have worsened significantly due to the Gaza war and atrocities committed there.
He added that developments since October 7 and crimes carried out in Gaza have impacted bilateral relations between Tel Aviv and Cairo.
Abdelatty clarified that there is a distinction between governmental relations and the peace treaty. The treaty remains intact, and Egypt continues to uphold it. Any claims of violations of this agreement are false.
He stressed that deploying international forces in Gaza to monitor a ceasefire must be done impartially. Egypt supports such deployment but does not necessarily intend to participate directly. Cairo engages with Hamas from the perspective of protecting Palestinian national interests and their aspirations.
