Erdogan Stresses Need to Maintain Ceasefire Between Pakistan and Afghanistan

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Hurriyet newspaper, Turkey’s Presidential Communications Directorate reported on a meeting between President recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Baku. The report stated that Ankara is closely monitoring terrorist attacks in Pakistan and also tensions between Islamabad and Kabul.
During the meeting, Erdoğan expressed hope that dialogue between Afghanistan and Pakistan would lead to lasting peace between the two nations.
He added that Turkey and Pakistan are strengthening cooperation in trade, energy, and defense industries.
The Turkish president also stressed the necessity of maintaining the ceasefire in Gaza and pursuing this matter within the framework of the United Nations.
Erdoğan and Shehbaz Sharif traveled to Baku on Saturday to attend azerbaijan’s Victory Day ceremony.
