Iraqi Government Spokesperson: International Community Welcomes Iraq’s Elections

Iraq’s government spokesperson highlighted the regional and international appreciation of the country’s electoral process.
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Iraq’s Al-Janoub network, Iraq’s government spokesperson Bassem Al-Awadi emphasized that there has been widespread regional and international approval of how Iraq’s parliamentary elections were conducted.
He added that the peaceful transfer of power in Iraq has earned global commendation.
Notably,7,768 candidates participated in the parliamentary elections to compete for seats in parliament.
Of these candidates, 5,520 were men and 2,248 were women, according to the report.
Additionally,21 million Iraqi voters are eligible to participate in selecting representatives for the country’s 329 parliamentary seats.
