Thousands of Iraqi Forces Deployed to Secure Elections

Iraq’s Joint Operations Deputy Commander and head of the Supreme Security Committee for Elections, Qais al-Muhmdawi, emphasized that military forces are prepared to secure the parliamentary elections across various regions.
He added that Iraqi military personnel are implementing different phases of the election security plan and remain at the highest state of readiness to protect all polling stations.
Al-Muhmdawi stated that their mission continues even after polling centers close, ensuring the protection and safe transfer of ballot boxes to baghdad until final results are announced.
Reports confirm that thousands of Iraqi army troops have been stationed in cities and villages to safeguard ballot boxes and polling sites.
The Iraqi Ministry of Defense also noted that developing this complete security plan took six months to complete.
