Pakistan Defense Minister Declares Wartime Status, Calls Talks with Kabul Futile

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al jazeera, Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif stated in a message on X that the country is “at war” and that the recent explosion in Islamabad should be seen as a “serious warning.”
He added,”In such circumstances,hoping for successful negotiations with Kabul’s rulers is futile. The rulers in Kabul can halt terrorism in Pakistan, but bringing this war into the heart of Islamabad sends a message from Kabul that, thanks to God, Pakistan has the power to respond.”
The Pakistani Interior Minister also confirmed that Tuesday’s blast outside Islamabad District Court gate was caused by a suicide bomber targeting a police vehicle, killing at least 12 people.
Mohsin Naqvi told reporters: “The attacker tried to enter the court premises but failed and instead targeted police vehicles.” He did not name any specific armed group responsible but said authorities are investigating all aspects of the incident.
the explosion occurred in a busy area of Islamabad and has raised concerns about security in Pakistan’s capital. It follows similar attacks carried out by militant groups previously reported in the country’s northwest region.
