Sudani Orders Closure of All Iraqi Government Offices and Institutions

The Iraqi Prime Minister’s Office announced that Mohammed Shia’ Al Sudani has ordered the closure of all government offices and official institutions ​tomorrow, except for units with ⁣continuous missions such as security ⁣and service sectors.

The statement explained that this directive​ aims to provide an opportunity for the Independent High Electoral Commission and security ‌agencies to complete requirements for transferring ballot boxes and vacating schools used during the election process.

Parliamentary elections in Iraq began this⁢ morning and are currently underway.
