Tokayev’s Perspective on the Railway Linking Russia, Iran, and Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan’s President Qasim Jomart Tokayev spoke today, Tuesday, about the vital role of energy and logistics cooperation as the foundation for collaboration between russia, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, and Iran. His remarks were reported by Mehr News Agency through Anadolu News Agency to the English section of webangah News Agency.
President Tokayev highlighted ongoing efforts to modernize border crossings and expand transit routes. He emphasized the North-South railway corridor connecting Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, and Iran as a critical link in this network. He said that energy and logistics remain key pillars supporting these partnerships.
Tokayev added that the Russia-Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran railway plays a special role in increasing the capacity of north-South transportation corridors. The signed roadmap aims to raise this strategic route’s capacity to 20 million tons annually within five years.
