Japan Protests China’s Travel Advisory

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Kyodo, Minoru Kihara, Chief Cabinet Secretary and senior government spokesman of Japan, stated that China’s behavior does not align wiht the approach desired by both countries’ leaders to strengthen bilateral relations.
Kihara added that continuous and multi-layered dialog between Japanese and Chinese officials is essential for managing disputes between the two nations.
The Chinese government has urged its citizens to refrain from traveling to Japan.
Relations between Tokyo and Beijing have been tense over the past week following remarks by Japan’s Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi expressing support for Taiwan.
The Japanese Prime Minister recently warned that a military move against Taiwan coudl compel Tokyo to invoke its “right of collective self-defence.”
In recent days, verbal tensions have escalated. After the Prime Minister’s statements, china’s Consul General in Osaka issued a sharp warning on social media platform X, threatening Japan’s leadership.
Taiwan has been separated from mainland China since 1949. Beijing continues to regard Taiwan as part of its territory-a position supported by several countries including Russia.
