According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the 46th summit of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) concluded with a strong emphasis on digital transformation and regional security among its member states.

The summit, hosted in Bahrain, culminated in a formal statement outlining the GCC’s commitment to fostering collaboration in technology and digital innovation. Leaders underscored the importance of respecting the sovereignty of all six member nations, asserting that any infringement upon a member’s sovereignty would constitute a direct threat to collective security.

In the issued statement, GCC leaders addressed the need to alleviate the suffering of Palestinians and reaffirmed their dedication to bolstering trade, tourism, and investment in strategic projects. The council also highlighted the continued pursuit of economic development and technological advancement across the region.

The GCC heads of state specifically emphasized the strengthening of digital infrastructure integration and the facilitation of e-commerce. They also recognized the importance of supporting the development of shared digital payment systems and cloud services.

The statement further reiterated the commitment to ongoing diversification and the reinforcement of an innovation-driven, sustainable economy. Environmental responsibility was highlighted, along with the promotion of clean and renewable energy projects.

Regarding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, the GCC leaders affirmed their commitment to ensuring full adherence to the terms of a Gaza ceasefire agreement, facilitating the delivery of humanitarian aid, and supporting the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip. They also stressed the importance of intensifying efforts to establish an independent, sovereign Palestinian state within the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, based on a two-state solution.

The GCC members further emphasized the necessity of working towards a Middle East free of nuclear weapons and weapons of mass destruction. The final statement also highlighted the significance of respecting the sovereignty of GCC member states and regional countries, opposing interference in their internal affairs, and refraining from the use of force or threats against them.

Member states stressed the need for continuous coordination in political, security, economic, and social domains, which strengthens regional security, stability, and prosperity. The GCC leaders also acknowledged the outcomes of the Sharm el-Sheikh summit, emphasizing the consolidation of political, security, and economic partnerships with friendly countries and international organizations, and reinforcing cooperation in the fight against extremism and terrorism.
