Sudan’s Ruling Council Deputy Claims Foreign Interference Worsens Conflict

Malik Agar, the Deputy Head of Sudan’s Sovereignty Council, stated that the Sudanese army is focused on stabilizing the country and highlighted foreign interference as a major factor complicating the ongoing conflict.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Malik Agar, the Deputy Head of Sudan’s Sovereignty Council, told Al-Arabiya that the conflict in Sudan is exacerbated by significant foreign interference.

Agar stated that over 70 percent of the forces fighting alongside the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) are mercenaries. He emphasized the government’s readiness to negotiate with any parties genuinely seeking peace in Sudan, noting that the RSF does not fully control any region within the country. The government is open to discussions with any faction aiming to achieve peace.

Agar further accused the RSF of violating all rules of engagement by targeting civilians and government institutions. He praised the efforts of Donald Trump regarding peace initiatives in Sudan and expressed willingness to consider any clear plan from Trump to end the war.

Agar affirmed that the army’s current mission is to establish security throughout Sudan.
