Cambodia Closes Border Crossings with Thailand Amid Rising Tensions

Cambodia has announced the complete closure of all border crossings with Thailand, heightening tensions between the two Southeast Asian nations. The move follows accusations of armed aggression and violations of Cambodian territory.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Cambodia‘s Ministry of Interior has declared the suspension of all entry and exit through its border crossings with Thailand.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister of Thailand has denied the existence of any ceasefire agreement with Cambodia.

The Cambodian Ministry of Defense issued a statement the previous day accusing Thailand of “armed aggression and targeting civilian areas.” The ministry stated that Cambodian forces would stand against what it described as “aggressive actions.”

The Thai military has refuted these accusations, asserting that its actions were taken within the framework of the “right of self-defense” to protect its sovereignty and national security.
