Iraqi Officials Dismissed After Erroneous Terrorist Asset Report

Following the publication of an inaccurate report regarding the blocking of terrorist assets in Iraq, which mistakenly implicated Hezbollah of Lebanon and Ansarallah of Yemen, the Iraqi government has taken disciplinary actions against responsible officials.
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Iraqi government has dismissed several officials and reassigned others following recommendations from an investigative committee. The actions stem from the publication of an inaccurate report concerning the freezing of terrorist assets within the country.
The report, released earlier this month, erroneously listed Hezbollah and Ansarallah among entities whose assets were to be blocked. The Central Bank of Iraq swiftly retracted the report, acknowledging the error and removing the names.
Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani ordered an immediate investigation to determine the cause of the mistake and hold those responsible accountable.
