Clashes Intensify Between Jolani Regime and SDF in Central Syria

Fierce clashes and heavy exchanges of fire have erupted between the Jolani regime forces and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in central Syria, resulting in civilian casualties and widespread condemnation.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, ongoing clashes and heavy gunfire have been reported in the Al-Ashrafiyah neighborhood between forces loyal to the Jolani regime and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). Syrian media allege that the SDF has targeted several residential areas, including Al-Jamiliyah and the vicinity of Al-Razi Hospital, using mortars, heavy machine guns, and sniper fire.

The Syrian Ministry of Health, as cited by SANA news agency, confirmed that a child and their mother were killed, with at least 15 others, mostly women and children, injured in the attacks. The Syrian Civil Defense also reported the death of a child and a woman, along with injuries to a young girl, following an attack on a residential home in Al-Jamiliyah.

The Ministry of Health condemned the targeting of areas near medical facilities as unacceptable and a violation of national sovereignty, ethics, and international laws. Meanwhile, the Syrian Interior Ministry stated that the Jolani Army launched a military response after monitoring aggressive SDF activities and attacks on checkpoints.

A spokesperson for the ministry accused the SDF of initiating the clashes, denying claims by Damascus about government-led attacks. The Governor of Aleppo reported continued SDF assaults on civilian areas using snipers and mortars, adding that specialized teams have been deployed to evacuate residents from conflict zones to safer locations.

In response, the SDF denied all allegations by the Damascus regime, accusing government-affiliated forces of targeting Aleppo neighborhoods with tanks and artillery, and placing responsibility for the conflict’s consequences on the Syrian government. Syrian media also reported that the Syrian Army struck SDF positions in the Sheikh Maqsoud and Al-Ashrafiyah neighborhoods.

Syrian television highlighted protests in Manbij, near Aleppo, condemning what was described as SDF violations and attacks on residential areas. Northern and eastern Syria have witnessed repeated clashes between the Jolani regime and the SDF for months, with ceasefire agreements failing to halt the violence.
