Ursula von der Leyen Holds Productive Talks with European Leaders on Ukraine Support

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen stated on Tuesday that she held productive talks with European leaders regarding ongoing support for Ukraine. In a post on the social media platform X, von der Leyen highlighted discussions on Ukraine’s security and post-war reconstruction, framing EU membership as a key to the country’s long-term prosperity and stability.
Von der Leyen asserted that Ukraine’s eventual accession to the European Union would serve as a critical security guarantee, benefiting not only Ukraine but the entire bloc. She referenced previous waves of EU expansion as evidence of mutual gains for both new members and existing states.
The announcement comes amid ongoing tensions with Russia, which has previously opposed Ukraine’s potential NATO membership but expressed no objections to its EU aspirations. Analysts suggest the EU’s promise of membership encourages Kyiv to maintain its stance against Russian aggression.
